PlatformIO support?

Question/Issue:

This project is tagged platformio on GitHub, however, after my research, it seems like https://github.com/Infineon/platformio-infineonxmc is the only repository bringing XMC support to platformio and the repository has not been updated in the PlatformIO registry for 4 years, so it lacks support for example of the new XMC14_2GO.
Is there any way to this library with PlatformIO and without the Arduino IDE?
If so, it would be nice to update the docs.

Where did you expect to find the answer?
I would expect that PlatformIO gets at least noticed in this repository of the docs, as it is a well established alternative to Arduino IDE.

We'll check and let you know.

There are certainly ways to use this without the Arduino IDE (by using arduino-cli for example). But we'll check specifically for platformio as well.
