RTLSDR not detected but usable by other apps

I have a large collection of RTLSDR devices connected to an Ubuntu 24.04 machine.

I have discovered that if device 0 is in use MeshStation reports there are no devices available. However if I ensure device 0 is available, it will show an accurate count of available devices.

The bug is due to a wrong assumption on my part, that if there is no device available at 0, then there are no others. This is to avoid long and useless scans, but, as you just demonstrated, in the real world it is better to wait a few more seconds, but ensure a more robust scan. I will patch this bug soon. It is very simple, just change a break with a continue and maybe increase the number of scannable indexes to 16 (currently it is lower but in light of your setup it is starting to seem a bit tight as a number).

I have the same problem. I assume you will allow the user to pick the serial number.

BTW this SDR locks at 2.9GHz using sdrpp.

osmosdr does not offer a reliable API for the list of connected devices, it simply uses the first available or the one specified, so I rewrote a specific protocol for searching for devices, in the new version it should find them all (except those in use) from the tests I did, I also had to optimize the search since I expanded the number of indexes, otherwise it would take too long to scan, I'm finishing the tests and waiting for any other issues before the release.
