[rvmp-2]: add a way to host pro modules

objective: ive started creating pro modules for opensox pro member so we want to create a section under opensox pro in the /dashboard that shows those modules.

todos

• those modules should be protected to avoid piracy
• modules should be accessible to the pro members only
• each module should have a title, a video and a small description to add links and text.
• modules should be organized in 3 categories — open source, build in public and first principles
• users should be able to search modules (just basic search)
• anything that you think can be important

notes:

• this is a bounty issue and the bounty amount will be decided once approach is finalized.
• i wanna pay good enough so that it's worth your time and efforts
• to save your time, pls share your approach and high level first, discuss it with me and once we're on the same page, only then start working on it.
• feel free to take your time to research and come up with something good and effective

Some follow ups to ask:

1. Is the pro module video , youtube unlisted url or something else
2. Want to create some admin cms or , how the modules will be added?
3. when i check /dashboard/ it is empty but there is pro members dashboard at dashboard/pro/dashboard , so can you mention what is the exact url you are referring in this issue itself
4. Each module should have a specific page as well or just the display, like a /module/module-id
5. There will be many modules, so like they should be segregated on the basis of their category or how should they be displayed
6. Pagination needed if there are many modules?
7. Want video thumbnail, title , and a small description visible only at the dashboard page or like some more things need to be displayed

These are the initial set of doubts I get , Please resolve them, then I will make my approach according to them

What's your opinion on this approach that instead of keeping this in a separate tab in the sidebar we just keep them on the same page cuz this will give a non pro user a FOMO and make them buy it. I propose displaying both free and Pro modules on the same page, utilizing a blurred overlay for locked items. Crucially, to make it completely secure against DevTools manipulation (inspect element), the protection will happen at the API layer, keeping implementation simple and cost-effective.

For the UI side I am preferring this non thumbnail view but its on you, so please tell me which UI will you like as you would have as you would have to make thumbnail for all

For the filter and search functions please refer to the screenshot attached above

My rough high level plan for this

On hosting:

• We're going with Bunny CDN (Bunny Stream) for the videos. It's cheap, fast, and gives us token-protected embeds out of the box, which covers what we need here.
• Bunny also supports full DRM, but that's overkill for this. The signed short-lived embeds plus disabled downloads are plenty for gated course content. DRM adds cost and complexity for little real gain, and we can flip it on later if piracy ever actually becomes a problem.
• Anti-piracy: the video lives on Bunny Stream and never reaches the frontend. The page only gets a short-lived signed playback URL the server generates on play. Raw video id and signing key stay server side.
• Pro only: only pro members can access it
• No downloads: video plays through Bunny's token-protected embed player, not a raw file link, so there's no MP4 to grab. We turn off direct downloads in the Bunny library, and the signed URL expires in a minute or two so a copied link is useless. Screen recording is the only way left, which no streaming service can fully stop.
• Module shape/ categories in sql like always
• Search: plain DB query on title/description plus category filter. Nothing fancy.

Worth locking in early:

• Non-pro users see the grid blurred with an upgrade prompt instead of a redirect, so they can see what's behind the paywall. API is the real gate; the UI lock is just for UX.
• Add /dashboard/pro to protected routes so unauthenticated users hit login first.
• We'll need a way to add modules (seed script or admin path).

Cost

• Low. Bunny Stream is usage based: storage from $0.01/GB per month, encoding free, and a $1/month account minimum. Our users are mostly in India, which is Bunny's Asia region at $0.03/GB for delivery, so bandwidth is the main driver. As a rough sense, ~1TB of monthly viewing (a few hundred members watching several modules) is around $30/month. Everything else reuses our existing Postgres, auth, and subscription setup, so nothing new to pay for.

Open question:

• For non-pro users, blurred locked grid with an upgrade prompt vs a redirect to pricing, which do we want?
• Is the cost acceptable for now? I think it is. Bunny is very cost-effective for our use case, cheaper than Vimeo and roughly on par with (often a bit under) Cloudflare Stream, so I don't think pricing should block us. (I personally have experience with Bunny)

3. ive pushed some changes. we wanna show the pro modules at /pro/pro-modules
4. don't know exactly. try to research which one would be great for the user
5. yes based on the category. a toggle would be good to switch bw categories
