Heads up before you use this list: it's not a general API directory — it's an affiliate funnel for one
platform.
Every single entry (all ~25,000 across all categories) links to an Apify actor, and every link carries
the same affiliate referral tag: apify.com/.../...?fpr=p2hrc6. So these aren't 25k different "APIs" —
they're one vendor's scraper marketplace, and each click-through earns the repo owner a commission.
That's worth knowing because:
- It's not diverse. "1,208 AI APIs", "4,825 Automation APIs" etc. are all the same platform's actors,
mostly scrapers — not independent APIs you can swap between.
- Every link is monetised. The fpr= tag is on all of them. Nothing wrong with affiliate links per se, but
the README doesn't disclose it, and the "mega list" framing implies neutral curation it doesn't have.
- The category counts inflate the impression. Many entries are near-duplicates (e.g. the same tool listed
again as "(Rental)").
If you want a genuinely vendor-neutral, free-to-use API list, public-apis/public-apis
(https://github.com/public-apis/public-apis) is the well-known community-maintained one (~1,500 APIs,
mixed providers, only a handful of disclosed sponsors).
Not saying don't use Apify — it's a legit platform. Just go in knowing this is marketing for it, not an
impartial directory.
