The https://github.com/nvim-treesitter/nvim-treesitter repository has been archived. Is there an easy way to use the new built-in Neovim API instead?

Configs on Neovim>=0.12 already use a lot of built-in Neovim API. The main purposes of 'nvim-treesitter' are:

• Functionality to install/update/delete tree-sitter parsers.
• Queries for those parsers that power features like highlighting, injections, etc.

At the moment, the suggestion is to keep using 'nvim-treesitter/nvim-treesitter' and 'nvim-treesitter/nvim-treesitter-textobjects'. The plugin is not removed from the GitHub and is still usable. I think that there will be some sort of action in them if anything actually breaks.

In the meantime, there is an ongoing work (currently at the stage of design and discussions, though) for alternatives:

• Owned by Neovim core themselves: nvim-treeconfig: upstream nvim-treesitter neovim/neovim#39006.
• A MINI centered alternative. Currently private and without established timeline, I am afraid.
