Digital Collections Team at Hamilton College LITS

Based at Hamilton College's Burke Library in Clinton, New York, the LITS Digital Collections Team is the primary steward of Hamilton's digital archives and special collections.

We aim to be a workshop and laboratory that empowers our community with the means of information, by developing tools and resources that grant researchers, students, and community members genuine command over the way knowledge is created, disseminated, accessed, and reused in everyday scholarly and civic life.

Our work is never merely about delivering content — it is about building the human capacity to engage with historical documentation, scholarly discourse, and digital cultural heritage freely, critically, and independently within the context of a global information economy. We aspire to provide systems, collections, staff experts, and institutional support networks that serve a greater purpose than simple document storage and digital content provision.

For more information about the Digital Collections Team or our work, please contact Patrick R. Wallace, Head of Digital Strategies.

Additional information

LITS Digital - our primary archival repository - offers a wide range of primary documents and historic artifacts, including manuscripts, printed works, visual materials, audio/video materials, and ephemera from American communal societies, the Ezra Pound Collection, American Civil War Collection, the Fillius Jazz Archive, and the Lesser Antilles. Many of the items in these collections were created by the DCT's in-house digitization lab, from items housed within the Michael Lang '67 Special Collections and Archives.

We are also proud to be making a growing number of historic texts and archival objects available via Internet Archive.
