This repo contains preliminary analyses for era-adjusted statistics for players in the Negro Leagues (1920–1948).
This is the first public implementation of Full House Modeling for Negro League era-adjusted baseball statistics.
Negro League statistics are notoriously difficult to compare with MLB contemporaries due to incomplete records and differing competitive environments. By constructing a reproducible estimate of the Negro League eligible population and applying Full House Modeling, this project makes cross-era comparisons on a fairer footing.
The approach is to use Full House Modeling to era-adjust batting and pitching statistics for players in the Negro League using a corresponding talent pool estimate for this league. This requires additional demographic considerations, which are documented in the repository.
