I'm a product builder with a focus on observability and cloud opertions, especially with OpenTelemetry. My framework is based on a Return on Investment (RoI)-Driven strategy and I especially like brownfield environments.
From 2018 to 2022 I served as a Cloud Native Ambassador at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), focusing on Kubernetes, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry. Over the past 35 years I wrote, deployed, and operated software using Go, Rust, Bash scripts, Python, C/C++, Java, and PHP in various open-source projects and proprietary products.
Before AWS, I worked at Red Hat in the OpenShift business unit, at Mesosphere (later D2IQ) on DC/OS and Kubernetes, at MapR (now part of HPE) on Apache Hadoop and Apache Drill, and prior to that I spent more than 11 years in applied research, in the field of symbolic AI.
